Hello Sharon,
I was browseing your beautiful site looking for an inspirational
poem for a
freind who is feeling down. When I happend upon the page
that talked about
how people bring curses upon themselves. You had
specifically mentioned a
piece of jewerly an ankh, I almost fell of my chair as I was
wearing an ankh
at the time.
I had no idea of it's symbolism or link to evil, needless to say
I yanked it
off my neck just as you did. Thank you for sharing your
insights with me and
so many others who often need an inspirational boost. I did
find the perfect
poem and thoughts for my freind who is very troubled at this
time.

Hi Sharon,
A friend mailed me your page because I have a Christian poetry
site, and
she thought I'd enjoy it....thank you so much for your poems and
for
letting your light shine for Jesus on the Internet.
Thank you also for the insight into the Ank (and also how we must
beware of
holding onto any craven images or images symbolic of the
Satan). You are
absolutely right, and my Pastor once preached about this and how
we have
all kinds of symbols around our homes and person that should not
be there,
and that is why many people lead defeated lives.
I took what he said to heart and rid myself of everything that
wasn't
Christian, including a gold buddah (on a gold charm bracelet
bought before
becoming a Christian), a silver "Taurus" pendant, a
vase with a dragon on
(I broke it which destroyed the value of my miniature vase
collection),
certain books and recordings (tapes, records), pictures,
etc.
I also have a large Chinese, blanket box (teak and mahogany) (25
years
old), on the front panel was a lovely and peaceful, pastoral
scene. Yet on
the top were 2 dragons fighting over a fireball (representing
Satan
fighting over the World....I since learned). I loved this blanket
box, it
meant a lot to me (and was carved for me, and unique), so my
husband asked
a carpenter friend if he could remove the carving from the top
without
destroying the box....his friend said it would probably ruin the
box (and
advised against it)! I prayed about it, and God let me know that
it had to
be done. So I said, "try anyway, because I can't live
with those dragons
in the house anymore, now that I know the truth"!
Anyway, God is faithful when we are faithful and my box was
returned to me
with a lovely clear smooth surface (completely dragon-free, and
beautiful).
I felt so much better within my spirit, and even physically when
I was
obedient to what the Lord had revealed through His Holy word, and
I would
encourage any other Christian who is experiencing struggles to
rid
themselves of anything that hinders their walk with the Lord.
