The Columbus Dispatch this week posted a news article that has many Christians riled, but have they considered all of the facts?

Creationism dispute

Science teacher's hearing to be Aug. 26
Tuesday,  July 8, 2008 3:14 AM By Alayna DeMartini
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- The Mount Vernon eighth-grade science teacher who has been under scrutiny for focusing on creationism and intelligent design in his classes will contest his planned firing at an Aug. 26 hearing.

The date was announced last night during a school board meeting in which several supporters for John Freshwater publicly chastised the school board for its plans to fire him.

Darcy Miller, whose son was taught by Freshwater, derided school administrators for singling out Freshwater when she said other teachers freely offer their opinions in the classroom.

"They (the administration) dug up any dirt they could that would put John Freshwater in the light of being a zealot shoving Christianity down the throats of his students," Miller said.

So far, it sounds like something that should alarm Christians everywhere, correct?

Before you comment or react, consider the rest of the story.

In China, one woman kills herself every four minutes.

Friday, September 01, 2006 (15:09:30)
According to World Health Organisation statistics, China is the only country in the world where more women commit suicide than men. Every year, 1.5 million women attempt to take their own lives, and a further 150,000 succeed in doing so. The problem is worse in rural areas, where the suicide rate is three times higher than in the cities.

Square Pegs of Reality in Round Pre-trib Holes

Sunday, May 14, 2006 (14:05:32)
Testimony from three people.

"It looked like a piece of spaghetti was sticking out about a quarter to an eighth of an inch long and it was sticking out of his chest," Lisa Wilson said. "I tried to pull it as hard as I could out and I could not pull it out."

"The lesions come up, and then these fuzzy things like spores come out"

"You want to get these things out to relieve the pain, and that's why you pull and then you can see the fibers there, and the tentacles are there, and there are millions of them"

Listen to one doctor's experience.

Sounds like something from the Book of Revelation, a horror film, or outer space, doesn't it?  This is actually happening to people in countries all around the world.  While still rare, cases of Morgellons disease are on the rise.

Study fails to show healing power of prayer

Saturday, April 01, 2006 (23:01:47)
CHICAGO (Reuters) - A study of more than 1,800 patients who underwent heart bypass surgery has failed to show that prayers specially organized for their recovery had any impact, researchers said Thursday.

In fact, the study found some of the patients who knew they were being prayed for did worse than others who were only told they might be prayed for -- though those who did the study said they could not explain why.

Who gets a black eye over this one? Christians everywhere are scrambling to explain away the findings of this study when in reality, they should take it to heart.

Let's look at a bit more information on how the study was conducted, shall we?
