A Man of the Cloth, Silver and Gold

Monday, November 07, 2005 (22:30:40)
Pastor G.J. West lived is a less than affluent part of Kansas City, Kansas. He didn't even own a home. While he was preaching Sunday, November 6, 2007, someone was taking a collection in his apartment. After arriving home from church that afternoon, he immediately knew something was amiss.

Burglars had broken into his apartment by cutting a hole in the ceiling and disarming the alarm. They got away with $200,000 worth of the pastor's jewelry.

What could I say that you are not already thinking?

[Correction] The date of the incident was November 6, 2005.

Recipe For G-d's Will

Sunday, October 02, 2005 (00:47:11)
This is a recipe for G-d's will
Ingredients:

4 - 10" flour tortillas
1/3 lb roast beef
Canned corn
Grated cheddar cheese
Ranch dressing
Cayenne pepper
Sesame seeds

Directions:
Place equal portions of roast beef on the tortillas.
Sprinkle with a little grated cheddar cheese.
Sprinkle on a bit of corn (left over from last night)
One thin line of ranch dressing
Sprinkle a teensy weensy bit of cayenne pepper
Sprinkle a few sesame seeds just because I like them.

Put the tortilla and ingredients on a plate in the microwave oven for 20-30 seconds to barely melt the cheese and soften the tortilla enough to roll without cracking it.

Eat cold or hot or freeze for a later meal.

Feeds four. Cost is negligible.
You can substitute any ingredient except the tortillas.

How can this be G-d's will? I'm glad you asked.

Glory To God In The High(e)St

"I simply argue that the Cross be raised again at the centre of the market place as well as on the steeple of the church.

It's Time

Thursday, September 29, 2005 (04:26:32)
I have never sent a message like this to anyone in email. I have never posted one on the Internet.

It's time.

If you understand what I am about to say, you may be one of the few.

My soul is troubled lately. Vexed might be a better word. I feel a message inside of me that MUST get out and I am not talking about writing some clever short story or novel or even a sonnet. Rather, I feel moved to grab people by the shoulders and shake them until their teeth rattle.

Reality TV - The Second Rant!

Thursday, June 30, 2005 (17:57:56)
OK, OK! I know I've kicked off about reality TV programmes before, but this really is the limit!

What do you get when you put a Christian into a show like "Big Brother"? For those of you who don't know what that is ("Big Brother" that is - not a Christian), can I come and live with you..... please?
