To BE, or not to BE

Thursday, March 01, 2007 (13:00:00)
Much is made about John the Baptist being God's prophet. But few today try to think what life must actually have been like for him.

Un-Christian Behaviour?

Friday, January 19, 2007 (02:35:15)
My wife has just accused me of behaving in an un-Christian manner, but I don't see it that way. Perhaps you'd like to make a judgment?

Fleeting Beauty

Friday, January 12, 2007 (16:32:52)

She was pretty and white and smooth and she faithfully did whatever I asked of her. She wasn't as young as what others might want, but I was proud of my vintage beauty. She was everything a man could want, but in a split second, she was violently heaved into an ugly, embarrassing heap that would forever bear the scars of the incident.

She is no longer a thing of beauty and I have something to think about...and pray about.

Christmas - The Three in One Plus One

Monday, December 25, 2006 (05:44:56)
Millions of Christians around the world are celebrating Christmas. Considering the event with all of its history and trappings, I have come to understand it as a three in one plus one holiday. Lest you jump to the conclusion that the three in one references the trinity just because Christians have copyrighted the term, Christmas is not worthy of such debate. It is a three in one holiday because it is first a pagan holiday, second, a retail holiday and third, an adopted Christian holiday.

We all know that Constantine instituted Christmas when he merged Christianity with paganism and the Christians of the day complied because they wanted to distance themselves from the persecuted Jews. If you want more information on that, search the Internet because I'd rather not rant about that in this message.

Second, Christmas is a retail holiday. Retailers scheme and plan for this day more than any other in the year because it will fill their coffers. It will make or break many businesses. It will determine the size of the CEO's bonus. Money, money, money makes the world go 'round and Santa and Hallmark churn the masses into a buying frenzy.

Multi-Culturalism?

Wednesday, October 18, 2006 (11:27:38)
Multi-culturalism is, apparently, the scourge of the nation - responsible for visiting all manner of ills on the poor, downtrodden masses. Well, that's the message you read every time you switch on the news, open a tabloid or (Heaven forbid) believe a politician. A divisive and evil thing. But they're missing the point.
