Pearls before Swine - by Adrian Plass

Saturday, November 06, 2004 (07:20:00)
Have you noticed how some bible verses are more or less invisible for years? Then, quite suddenly, it is as though an unseen hand places those words before your eyes in such a way that you must take notice of them. This happened to me very recently when I found myself really wanting to know what Jesus meant when he said that we should not cast our pearls before swine.

What pearls?

What swine?

Why shouldn't we feed the latter with the former?

Wormwood

Thursday, October 14, 2004 (06:15:00)
Revelation 8:10-11
10: And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of the waters.
11: And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

Wormwood (Artemisia Absintium) is a plant approximately 4 feet in height and is dark green in color. Leaves are covered in silky, grayish hairs and have downy undersides. Shrubs and bushes are very coarse, known to spread and sprawl, and are very aromatic. The leaves and roots exude a substance that restricts the growth of many neighboring plants. It is known to grow wild on roadsides and waste ground.

Dirty Tricks - How to Manipulate a Congregation

Sunday, October 03, 2004 (02:26:22)
In this series of messages, I will attempt to explain dirty tricks used by unscrupulous pastors, preachers, evangelists, and church leaders. The revealing of this information will undoubtedly be met with the same distain as when someone explains how a magic trick is done. There is no magic. It's a trick.

In this message, I will explain common methods used by some pastors, preachers and evangelists to manipulate and control their congregations.

Disclaimer: Not all pastors, preachers and evangelists are guilty of using these dirty tricks. After learning what they are, you will know if yours is guilty or not.

The Passion - Don't Listen to Them

Wednesday, September 01, 2004 (00:32:23)
You have undoubtedly read many reviews of "The Passion," a movie directed by Mel Gibson. It seems that everyone who sees it, has something to say. My wife and I just got done viewing the film and like others, I have something to say as well.

Thank you, Mel Gibson, for reminding me who I serve and what Yeshua did for me on the cross.

If you have not seen the movie, see it. If you have seen it, see it again and again if that's what it takes. Do not listen to anyone who tries to persuade you to do otherwise.

Separation of Church and State Part II - 30 Pieces of Silver

Tuesday, August 31, 2004 (02:20:08)
Separation of Church and State (30 Pieces of Silver) The roots of many problems surrounding the separation of church and State lie closer to home than you might imagine. Your local church may be a snake in the barrel. That's a powerful statement and I can prove it. This article might open a big can of worms for most Christians and churches. It will not be popular with many pastors or church board members because it reveals facts about church management they don't want to discuss, especially with their congregation. Most local churches have no right to complain when their speech is censored by the government because they have relinquished their rights to freedom of speech for a few pieces of silver. How do you expose someone's secret sin in a loving manner? No matter how you do it, someone will complain. I guess you just speak the truth and be ready to defend it.
