When I Said I Do

Wednesday, January 02, 2008 (00:43:02)
Our anniversary was on the 21st of December.  I wonder what couples do when they don't celebrate any occasion other than a Biblical holiday, no birthdays, no anniversaries. Do they think the celebration of a blessing is a sin  My wife and I are just common folks.  Some would consider us poor.  We didn't go anywhere special on our anniversary, no gifts, but we remembered it just the same and I don't see how that could be a sin.  Perhaps the abstinence camp could produce some Scriptures to validate their chosen practice.

A Season of Meat and Idols

I Corinthians 8:1-4
1Co 8:1  With regard to food sacrificed to idols, we know that "we all have knowledge." Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
1Co 8:2  If someone thinks he knows something, he does not yet know to the degree that he needs to know.
1Co 8:3  But if someone loves God, he is known by God.
1Co 8:4  With regard then to eating food sacrificed to idols, we know that "an idol in this world is nothing," and that "there is no God but one."

When I was a kid, my family went to a Baptist church.  There, I learned that Catholics were all going to hell because after all, the Catholic church is the great whore spoken of in the book of Revelation.  Right behind them would be the Episcopalians and Lutherans because they are Catholics in disguise.  Hey, all I'm telling you is what I was taught.

Guns in the Church

I thought it was illegal to carry a gun into a church.
What do you think? Should churches have armed guards?
Is this what Yahweh wants?

Nephesh chayyah

The animals feel pain. They have emotions. They think, they trust, they reason. They love unconditionally, yet we torture them, kill them and butcher them without remorse.

My puppies love me more than any church member or pastor ever has or ever will. They are an example of His love. There is no doubt in my heart that if man has a soul, then so do the animals that He breathed life into. The same Hebrew word, Ruach, that he breathed into man, is used when he breathed life into the animals. It means, wind, breath, mind, spirit.
